when your tiny life was lost my memories were of a future that would never exist

In some countries October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Remembrance Day being the 15th. Though I have missed posting this by the 15th, this post is in memory of the tiny lives my family has lost through miscarriage, and to respectfully acknowledge families and individuals who have experienced child loss in all its many forms.

unknown (this is how I imagine you)
unknown (this is how I imagine you)

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139: 13-16 NIV

  3. Thank you ladies. Yes, our last due date was mid October. I've certainly been up and down this month, but I hope by making something beautiful out of the tragic my family's story can be of comfort to others and ultimately glorify God.

  8. As a collection, they tell a powerful story that needs to be told.

It is absolutely wonderful that you are able to use your creativity to make your inner grief and love visible. Art work like this connects and helps far more than you realize.

You are communicating something true to the bone, and I congratulate you.
